If you would like your wedding mehndi to be photographed in a way that tells the story of laughter and all the beautiful emotions, like Arooj & Naveed's Newport, South Wales wedding mehndi below, let's have a chat!
Venue: Close to Celtic Manor, Newport, South Wales
Arooj and Naveed's mehndi was a fun-filled event held at the spacious home of Naveed's parents, with family members and close family friends attending. I arrived quite a while before the actual mehendi started, so there was an opportunity for some lovely portraits in the setting sun, 'golden hour' light! As this was a close-knit family, and reflective of the occasion and the recent isolation, there were lots of requests for posed portraits throughout the evening. This little blog incorporates some of these portraits, as well as the unposed storytelling that my style of documenting weddings is better known for.
As with all Asian family gatherings, everyone had dressed up in their colourful best, and as this mehndi was held just after the covid19 gathering instructions had eased, so for many in the family, this was a chance to see each other after a long time. These photos capture all the stories and joy from a very elegant and relaxed British-Asian mehndi.
Thanks very much to Naveed's family once again for asking me to document this beautiful mehndi!
